The software

Built on Drupal

CyberCourse runs on Drupal. Drupal is a popular open source content management system (CMS). Drupal uses open technology, like Apache, PHP, MySQL, and jQuery.

Programmers extend Drupal by writing modules. They’re like plugins. Programmers often contribute their work to the Drupal community. At the time of writing, more than 15,000 modules are available on Drupal.Org, for free use.

Cyco is a Drupal distribution, that is, Drupal core + modules from Drupal.Org + custom modules + configuration. It is installed like any other Drupal site.

Development process

The details need to be worked out. Right now, you can download a zip file from this site. Eventually, the code will move to Drupal.Org, GitHub, BitBucket, or some other service.

Setting goals

The wiki is where we’ll talk about the project, and decide where it goes. How should existing features be changed? What features are added next? How do we help authors learn about learning? How is that content organized and updated? And many other questions.
